To Support Local Art and Music with Busking 3.0

The City of Vancouver has exciting news for the summer of 2025 in Gastown! The Water Street Pedestrian Zone pilot is set to return, transforming Gastown, DTES into a vibrant, pedestrian-friendly area on Sundays from June to September 2025. This initiative, approved by the Council in October 2024, aims to enhance the local experience by providing expanded patios and a streamlined permitting process for businesses.

The City of Vancouver’s Community Placemaking Program offers financial support to help Gastown residents deliver placemaking projects that bring Vancouver’s public spaces to life. This will reimagine and temporarily transform the Gastown Water Street Pedestrian Zone into accessible, inspiring, inclusive, and fun experiences.
